This short film is the visual story of a song that I think is one of Eminem's greatest rap songs. While I only animated the last 3 minutes of the song, this part of the song has some of the most powerful meanings behind it and I wanted to bring those to life in my short. The metaphor here is that Eminem is being brought face to face with the fact that he gave up everything to be the best, but at a cost. I wanted to try to tie that all together with these levels of understanding that Eminem would go through, similar to the levels in Dante's Inferno. These levels would ultimately lead him to where it all started, his childhood.
This was created with a lot of love and patience. Over one year to finish it, and while it's not perfect this was by far the largest learning experience of my professional career. I hope you enjoy it.
